Skylar's Run Clean Water 5K race is focused on bringing awareness that Safe, Clean Water IS a solvable problem. In addition to our featured 5K Walk/Run Race, we have added two additional events for 2025. Race headliner, Skylar Gwin, and his father, Paul, will be leading the 0.5 mile paved, wheelchair accessible "Walk & Roll" event as a testimony to the fact that EVERYONE can be part of the clean water solution, no matter their age or abilities. To bring awareness to the daily walk for water that is a reality for so many women and girls in Kenya, participants may choose to register for a 0.5 mile “Water Carry” event where water-filled buckets will be provided to carry on 0.5 mile course in order to gain understanding of the critical need for water accessibility.

The “Walk and Roll” and “Water Carry” events are open to all ages and abilities and are not timed events. All participants will receive a participation medal.

WHY WE RUN, Walk, Roll, and Water Carry.

The urgent need for access to water is more critical than before. Recent years of drought continue to impede the sustainability of life. This is a solvable problem, and together we can make a difference! We are partnered with community leaders and church leaders who are committed to seeing their members have access to safe, clean water!

Across East Africa, a 5K is the average walk women and children make to collect water necessary for daily living. Unfortunately this water is often contaminated with unseen, harmful bacteria leading to illness and even death. By choosing to run, walk, roll, or carry water, you provide access to safe, clean water through sustainable water filters and hygiene training for vulnerable children and families in rural communities in Kenya.
